Obviously, some things have changed with my weekly Pinterest post. I decided to move it to Thursdays since the All Star Block Party starts on Tuesday nights. I will be featuring some of my fellow bloggers' pictures...but, only the ones that I can link back to their site. I want to support the blogging community so please, please, please take time to READ THIS:
IMPORTANT: Please do NOT pin an image from this blog post. The pins (photos) shown on this blog post are NOT my property and should NOT be referenced back to my blog in any way. Please refer to the original source if you would like to pin an image.
Today, I want to devote this post to my love of crochet. My grandmother made me fall in love with crocheting as a young girl. She was really good at it and enjoyed it immensely. I remember how my cousins and I would sit at the table with her as she showed us how to do each stitch. We wanted to be like her. I laugh now as I think back on those days...we would never be as good as she was.
My mom recently gave me a doll's dress that my grandmother made for her as a child. It is exquisite. She used very small pink and white cotton thread. Over the years, it has yellowed and stained. I want to get a "Barbie doll" model for it and display it in a shadow box. It needs cleaning but I don't know how to do it without destroying the fragile thread. Any ideas?
Recently, I've had the desire to start crocheting again. I made a board on Pinterest, called "
Crochet and quilts", so I could collect ideas about what to make. Here are some of my pins from that board.
With Fall right around the corner, it's the perfect time to take up crocheting. I hope you were as inspired by these pictures as I was.
My Mom used to crochet us barbie doll dresses just like that one. I've been getting the hankering to crochet as well. I have a pattern all ready to go now I just need to carve out some time.
