For the last few months, I've been restless and looking for something....different. I tried hosting a linky party on my blog but I didn't really like it...something was missing. I decided to join with some other bloggers to form a group linky party called the All Star Block Party. I love it because I get to work with other bloggers every week. That's what was missing. It was a great decision and I LOVE the relationships that I have formed with the other hosts. We're like family. And again, I have met some wonderful people through this party.
But, again, the restlessness set in. My next decision was to form another group of bloggers to host a blog hop with. I LOVE blog hops! They're one of the best ways to meet people. Since I have been so hooked on social media lately, I decided to have a Google+ blog hop. The hop is scheduled for August 4th and I'm really looking forward to it.

I've also tried some new things this summer....giveaways and sponsorship. But it just isn't for me. I want to interact with other bloggers more and help them grow their blogs. That is what fulfills me the most. I guess it's the "caregiver" in me. That's my job and I love it.
Earlier this week, as I was struggling to define my "role" in blogland, I was offered the opportunity to assist someone else with their website and blog. That site is called LinkyHere and is the brainchild of Aimee of byAimee.com. She is a web and graphics designer (and WordPress genius!) that saw a need for a "one stop shop" directory of linky parties. A place where a blogger can go to find a linky party to share their project on and a place where a linky party host can list their party to make it easier for bloggers to find them. Her ultimate goal for this site is for it to become a place where bloggers can share and communicate with each other. I love that!
Aimee has become so successful with her design business that she needed help with the LinkyHere site. That's where I come in. When I heard about the great site she had built and it's purpose, I wanted to be a part of it. It encompasses everything that I love doing....organizing and bringing bloggers together, promoting linky parties and helping blogs grow.
So I'm cheating on my blog with LinkyHere. But I will still be here crafting my little heart out and hosting my favorite linky party with my bloggy family. I want to continue to build this blog (for me) and build up LinkyHere for you. So, if you host a linky party or blog hop, I'd love to help it (and your blog) grow. My favorite part of blogging is the community. You guys make me happy :)

ReplyDeleteI just gave this post a +1 Shasta! I love this idea and don't think you are cheating at all. You are just sharing your knowledge with other and that can only do great things for your blog!
