Should be easy, right? Wrong! Because of this....
These are the 'plaques" that he won while competing in New Iberia, Louisiana...part of "Cajun country". Those are real (sugar) cane knives with vinyl letters stuck on the blade...a sharp blade.
I'm trying to figure out how to add them to the wall so that they blend in well with the other (real) plaques. And be safe...
I've been laying out the plaques on the floor trying to come up with something.
I was thinking about hanging the knives vertically since it would be safer but then the words would be hard to read.
Do you have any ideas? What I mean is...HELP!!! I want to do something to the wall before he comes home from the flying "camp" that he goes to every summer. I'm expecting him home on July 13th so think of something fast, ha!
One more thing. I want to remind everyone that the first day of my new Google+ series will begin tomorrow. I will be writing about how to create a Google+ page as well as giving tips on how to use it to your advantage. The series will be four parts...one for every Saturday in July.
At the end of the series, I am teaming up with some other bloggers to bring you a large, multi-hosted Google+ Blog Hop. The hop is scheduled for August 4th. Please "save the date" so you can join us in a new networking experience.

Get a square stretched canvas from an art store. Paint it one solid color and then let it dry. Then, using needle and thread sew/bind the blades onto the canvas. You can then hang the canvas!
ReplyDeleteMaybe a shadow box frame & attach it to the back. The glass would help with the safety concern because it will prevent the knives from falling off the wall.
ReplyDeleteWOW ! awesome trophy's ! I had a friend when I was younger that flew the remote control planes , some of the guys planes were huge and they also did all kinds of airobatics ! Good for your son a great hobby to have and fun to ! Have a good day and stay cool in the heat wave !
ReplyDeleteMaybe have them mounted to a plague like board to match the others?
ReplyDeleteYou must be so proud!
I agree with Hilda. Go to Hobby Lobby and get a shadowbox and display them in that.
ReplyDeleteBut if you display them in a shadowbox, do it vertically - they look much more interesting that way (in my humble opinion)
