I call it my "mom command center" because it's where I put all of my reminder notes, to do lists, grocery lists, etc. This is my little corner and no one else in my family uses it. If my husband or son needs to leave me a note, they put it there. It's the first place I go to when I wake up and I use the space to (try) to keep myself organized.
If you've read some of my previous posts, you might recognize the shelf on the wall. It holds some of my favorite things. I wrote about it here.
I also recycled another one of my favorite candy boxes to make a clipboard of sorts. Just to remind you of what the box looked like (and to make you drool over the candy), here it is.
Some of the other things that I have in my little corner counter space are a small chalkboard (for notes) and a wooden organizer (for mail, pens, etc.). I have had the wooden organizer for years but have resisted the urge to paint it because it matches my kitchen cabinets. The folding screen, however did not escape my painting obsession. I painted it with AS chalk paint in chateau gray (to match the shelf on the wall).
To end this post, I thought I would show you what the front of the folding photo screen looks like. It has some of my favorite family photos in it. Just look at those super cute kids :)

Those baby pictures of your son are so cute. The top middle one is so cute. I have no place like you have for kids to leave me notes and stuff. I guess I should. My husband has a fish room and he has a shelf like your area. I need to post my husbands fish man cave someday. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing ideas for command centers!
ReplyDeleteHi Shasta! I love that you have a command center! You've decorated it so nicely! Those photos are adorable! Have a great holiday weekend! Blessings from Bama!
ReplyDeleteI have too many command centers throughout the house... actually mine could be called chaos centers.. I think I need to take a que from you Shasta and get my organizational act together... Thanks for the inspiration!!!
ReplyDeleteCarri =)
I love command centers too and mine is partly on our kitchen counter as well. Great use of the picture frame to do double duty as part of your command center! I drooled just a little bit when I saw the chocolate, but other than that, I enjoyed this post with an otherwise dry mouth. Found you on the Hodgepodge link party where I link up too!

Shasta, hey girl your little center is so cute, no wonder it commands attention. Looks like a fun place to keep everything organized. Very creative how you covered the chocolate box and made it into a fun note center. I would have just tossed it. You are a recycling genius! Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.

Jann
Great idea! I need one of these.
ReplyDeleteI am the least organized person ever. Your command center looks like it will help to remind you of important happenings!
