My Dream Home Tour...Pinterest Style!

Like most people, I have visions of my perfect "dream" house.  I have an entire board on Pinterest, called "houses I like", with nothing but pictures of what I consider to be the most beautiful and perfect homes on earth.  Homes that I can only dream about living in.

These pictures only show the outside of the house.  What about the inside?  Today, I want to show you what my dream home looks like...inside and out.

Before I start posting pictures of my dream home, let me state this important disclaimer:

All of the pictures in this post came from my boards on Pinterest.
These are NOT my pictures.  I do not own them.
PLEASE DO NOT PIN THESE PICTURES FROM MY BLOG.

I have created a board on my Pinterest account as a place to store
these pictures (and others) that make up my "dream home".
Please consider the ORIGINAL source of these pictures.
The original designer/photographer should be given credit for these pictures.
NOT ME!

Let's begin with what I envision the front of my dream house to look like.

My dream home will be a large, white Victorian style house with a front porch surrounded by a manicured front lawn.  There will be plenty of beautiful flowers and shrubs divided by stone paths under large oak trees.

Since this is a "dream" home, I will have a personal gardener that takes care of the grounds and keeps everything looking beautiful.  He/she will be part of the  house staff that includes the cook, maids and butler.  My mega-millions lotto winnings will be used to pay for all of this.

Here is what I imagine the front porch will look like.  It's a true Southern porch with rocking chairs and a comfy porch swing suspended from the haint blue painted ceiling.

When you enter the front door, you will be greeted by a long hallway that leads all the way to the back of the house.  You'll see an open staircase to the left that leads to the sleeping quarters of the house.

From that hallway, there will be entrances into several rooms.  Such as:

The Living Room.

The small, cozy den:

The dining room:

Next to the dining room is the large kitchen:

This is my refrigerator (but in pale pink instead of red).

Off to the side of the kitchen are several rooms.
The butler's pantry:

The conservatory.

The laundry room.

And the mom cave/craft room.

Let's take a quick tour of the upstairs bedrooms.

And the bathrooms.

Now we'll go back downstairs to the main hall.  Heading to the back of the house is the mudroom.

This leads out to the back porch.

On the other side of the porch is my potting bench area.

Now let's take a walk in the backyard gardens.

Even the detached garage seems like it's part of the gardens.

Thank you for taking this tour with me.  Now let's sit on the porch a while to rest up and have a cold glass of sweet tea.

This post was meant to be fun and a way for me to show what my decorating "style" is.  It also became a lesson for me on the controversy of finding the original source of pictures on Pinterest.

When I attempted to do this with the pictures in this post, I was shocked at how difficult it was.  Sometimes impossible because they had been repinned so many times that they had lost their "identity".  That is why I created a board on Pinterest with all of the pictures above (and others) titled "dream house".  I stated this above but it bears repeating.

All of the pictures in this post came from my boards on Pinterest.

  4. I love it, Shasta!! If only we could make our dreams come true in that way. You would need a gardener and you would definitely need a housekeeper just to dust all the rooms. Would love, love, love a big old fashioned kitchen. And a butler's pantry!! Once, a long time ago, I was looking at a complete wreck of a house that had the original butlers pantry still there - all old wood and tin ceiling. I almost bought the house just for that pantry.

  10. LOVE your dream house, Especially the front. I would love a Queen Anne Victorian with a huge front porch filled with wicker furniture and rockers. I would have a bit more color inside the house though. I like white but I would get bored with it way to quick. I agree with the gardens and would definitely have a beautiful gazebo in the back yard.
What great fun! Loved sharing your dream!!

  17. Your dream house looks like those I imagine seeing on fairytales: Full of flowers and everything nice! Also, I like the white interior, which just feels so clean and very comfy. I hope you’ll be able to build your dream house and live with your family, happily ever after.
