Trying To Tame My Spring Fever

I thought that I would be posting pictures of new Spring decor in my home by now.  I'm dying to redo my mantel for Spring and I have a whole box of Spring crafty stuff just waiting for me to dig into.

But...I have to put those things on the back burner for a few days while tending to my sick little boy.  As you know, he had surgery and a small hospital stay last week.  He was recovering really well and then got hit by an ear infection this past weekend.

We've been down that road before and knew a specific antibiotic was needed.  But it's all about timing.  It's really bad timing when your son gets sick during Mardi Gras weekend and all of his doctors are in New Orleans.  You think getting in touch with a doctor on Christmas Day is hard?  Try a New Orleans doctor during Mardi Gras.  That city shuts down for Mardi Gras...for days!  So frustrating!

Anyway, he has his antibiotic now and is on the mend.  In the meantime, I have been sitting by his side while he rests with my laptop for entertainment.  Planning and dreaming of Spring.

Everything is starting to bloom where I live (Southern Miss.)...it only increases my Spring fever, ha!  Here is a picture of my Japanese Magnolia tree.  I took pictures of it today to put on my laptop desktop background.

  1. Oh Shasta! I love your Tulip Tree, that's what I call them! It is beautiful! I'm sorry your son was sick but I'm glad he's doing better! You'll probably be experiencing Spring shortly, if this warm weather continues! It's starting to look like Spring here as well but my Tulip Tree hasn't opened out yet. Blessings from Bama!

  2. Your tulip tree is beautiful. Mine bloomed around the first of February and is long gone. In fact a lot of my spring flowers and shrubs have already bloomed-I won't have much blooming for Easter bouquets this year! Glad your son is better, it s so frustrating when they are sick and you can't get in to see a doctor.

  3. Love the pics of your magnolia. So pretty. I'm ready too.
I've been reading all the recent posts referencing your son and all the hard work you put into taking care of him. You seriously deserve a super mom badge. I'm counting the days until my 'up all night' is over and you've been doing it for YEARS. Seriously, Super Mom. I don't know how you manage to scrounge up the energy for anything else. He's lucky to have you as his mommy.

  4. That Magnolia tree is beautiful! I live in Arizona and just did a post on beautiful flowers and outdoor landscapes in my yard and in my neighborhood to help people who are stuck in the snow hang in there a little longer! I found you from The Grow Your Blog Series! I am your newest follower!
