Winter Decorations...Bring On The Birds

When Christmas was over there were so many things I didn't want to let go of.  I made new Christmas crafts and decorated pieces in my home like I had never done before.  It's kinda depressing...all that time preparing your home for Christmas and it seems to go by so fast.

As I was cruising around Pinterest one day, I kept seeing the cutest pictures of winter birds.  My backyard is full of birds this time of year and I love it.

After seeing these pictures, I decided decorate for winter with some of my bird collectibles.  The first thing I did was take the green ornaments out of my "Christmas birdcage" and just use the red and silver ones.  That was easy and I still love it.

I received some great redbird stuff for Christmas from my mom and sister so I used them also.

I decorated one of my kitchen shelves with some of my bird collectibles.  I love to display beautiful plates and my mom gave me one to use for my vignette.  It was perfect!

I took a limb from my crepe myrtle tree and suspended it from corbel to corbel so I could hang my favorite bird ornaments from it.

One other thing I use is an outdoor hanging that I received for Christmas years ago.  It sort of matches my bird ornaments.  I had it outside on the back porch but had to bring it inside due to a very windy rainstorm.  So here it is hanging on the wall, lol.

Did you see all that fake snow on the wood and birdhouse?  That's about as close as I get to seeing snow around here.  Our weather (in South Mississippi) is very strange this time of year.  Night before last I was covering up fragile outdoor plants because our "low" temperature at night was 22 degrees.  Today, I ran the air conditioner.  Ha, that's our "winter".
