I Did Something Crazy... Now I Need Your Help

Remember the Christmas mantel full of color and lights that I did for my young son?  I wrote about it here back in November.

For some crazy reason I thought it would be a good idea to enter it in the Better Homes and Gardens Christmas mantel contest.  I usually don't do stuff like that but that day I thought I would try it since my mantle was "non-traditional".  It was easy to do, free and the winner gets $250.  Whoop, whoop...cash!


I didn't tell anyone.  I thought the voting for the winner was done by the people at BHG.  So who had to know, right?  Wrong.


Apparently, my mantel was chosen to go to the next phase of the contest...the one where the public votes. Today they sent me this email:
     "Your photo is currently in the running to become a weekly winner on BHG.com Photo   Faves. The photo with the most votes will take home the honors!"


So I'm now kindly asking you for your vote.  OMG, that sounded like I'm running for president or something.


This is totally weird for me.  I never thought it would get to this.  I'm glad my sons don't read BHG.  They would kill me. Click on the picture below to get to the voting site.

(I just checked my link.  They keep changing it based on the number of votes each picture gets. Aarrgghh...this is going to drive me crazy.  So you may have to look thru the entries to find mine).


While you're there, take a look at some of the other mantels.  There is some good inspiration for next Christmas.  I saw some pretty ones in a blue and white color scheme.  I'm already planning for next year.  Maybe turquoise and lime green....
