Today, I made two necklaces for Christmas gifts. The first one has been done to death but I had to make one for my sister.
It's the infamous wire birdnest pendant. I saw one on Pinterest in brown (instead of the typical silver) and fell in love with it.

I decided to use the ribbon as a "chain" for the pendant.
I've been loving the look of ribbon with necklaces and bracelets. I saw the combination everywhere I looked during my Cyber Monday shopping. Since I had my ribbon box out, I decided to make another necklace. I have seen bracelets combined with ribbon to make a necklace. I saw one on Pinterest here.
Here is my version:
I took the chain connector off of the bracelet and replaced it with ribbon. I would like to cover the metal ends of the bracelet (where it connects to the ribbon) with something but I can't figure out what will work. If it were my necklace, I would use some vintage looking earrings or pins. But this is for my sister and she likes things modern and simplistic. How she's related to me, I don't know. Our styles are very different, lol.
I hope tomorrow's weather is better. I've got lots of ideas for making signs and I need to get started. The wood and paint are sitting on my breakfast room floor just waiting for me....c'mon good weather (fingers and toes crossed).
